From 1971 to 1987, one of the most prominent models in the luxury car field was the Rolls-Royce Corniche, which stood as a symbol of elegance and performance in the British luxury car manufacturer’s lineup. The model, which was notable for its popularity among high-end celebrities, underwent a variety of different minor alterations across the years, until starting in 1986, the Rolls-Royce Corniche II name was applied to the line in the United States and in 1988 everywhere else. This breathed new life into the popular sixteen-year-old line, while also keeping the instant classic relevant in the popular consciousness.

The most notable change to the Rolls-Royce Corniche II, which unlike its predecessor was only available as a two-door convertible, was the implementation of anti-lock brakes, which were added in 1988. A new reverse warning lens, newly redesigned seats, revamped instrumentation, and a new pattern around the license plate were among other changes that separated the Rolls-Royce Corniche II from its previous iteration. Despite its short run, the model represented a leap forward for the Corniche name.
