Rolls Royce 40/50

The 40/50 was actually the original name for the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost. That being said, these two cars are one in the same. The chassis was one of the first made in Royce’s Manchester establishment before it moved in 1908. Development of this vehicle was suspended during World War I, but the chassis and engine was still supplied for use bye the Armoured models. Although a breakthrough and successful model, the 40/50 (Silver Ghost) was beat out by competitors. This lead to Rolls-Royce development more advanced models for the future.
