1965 marked the final year that the Amphicar Model 770 was kept on the lot. For about seven years the car was available for general purchase, after that it was left to the hands who’d purchased in previous years. After looking back at the vehicle as a fun symbol for the early to mid 60’s pop culture, the Amphicar remains a reminder that the automotive industry can have a quirky side as well. With thanks to Hans Trippel, we are now able to look back at the Amphicar as an automotive veteran of a sort.
