1961 Amphicar

Between the years of 1961 and 1962 the Amphicar had evolved between a multitude of prototypes. The vehicle had what was considered a state-of-the-art engine for these years, as it was located in the back and had propellers attached. With a curved, one piece windshield and a foldable top considered the car as a cabriolet. This style is what made the car feel like a luxury on the road, but a boat ride in the water. Both in the water and on land, the car steered from its two front wheels. As a descendant of the Volkswagen Schwinnagan, the Amphicar was subordinate to contemporary boats or cars of that time while offering minimal speed on either terrain.
