The 1958 Corvette was about adapting to the time, leaving behind the early fifties look the first few Corvettes boasted and implementing the chrome look of the incoming sixties. This also meant adding four exposed headlights and more prominent grilles to the vehicle’s design. The overall technology, particularly the one of the interior instruments and dashboard, was updated and refined. A tachometer was finally added to the driver’s dashboard and the panel covered in vinyl.
