The model year 1969 saw some significant changes to the Porsche 911. In order to correct the oversteering and handling of the car, the wheelbase was extended by nearly 3 inches (2.5 inches to be exact). This had the desired effect, causing the 1969 model to be a better driver than the previous models.
In addition, the 911 moved to mechanical fuel injection. The seats were more luxurious, as they not only reclined but could be adjusted for height as well. In 1969, the best 911 became the T, but customers still had the choice of buying a 911E or 911S. All models of the car could be ordered with the Tanga roof.
