The 1970 and 1971 Porsche 911s are better cars than the first generation Porsches. Also known as the C and D program cars respectively, the 2.2 Litre cars showcased significantly improved steering and handling. This is due to a redesign of the chassis and engine.  The first generation 911’s had a tendency to rust. Due to this, the 1970 and 1971  2.2 Litre cars also received an anti-corrosion sealant. Minor improvements  to the 2.2 include the introduction of electric side windows and an ergonomically enhanced dashboard. The addition of door handles improved the customer experience. Consumers, in the market for a new Porsche, had their pick of models. The 911T, 911 E and 911S were available for sale as well as the base 911. Fewer choices were available for the interior. Consumers could stick with the standard black, brown or beige leatherette or opt for leather for the interior.
