Additional Stats:

The original Porsche 356A, which was first available to the Austrian and German public in 1948, marking the first major grift between the company’s Volkswagen and Porsche lineups. The line was created by Ferdinand Porsche II, son of the company founder, as a means to develop a small car with a powerful engine that results in an overall more pleasant driving experience. The first series, known as the 356 Pre-A, ran from 1948 to 1955. A stylistically and performative successful model, it soon gave way to its next improved iteration.

The Porsche 356A underwent a variety of changes meant to enhance the vehicle and create a better version of the early model. Known as the 356 T2 among car enthusiasts (coming from Type 2), the model has inspired a lot of replicas in the last few decades. It holds a special place in the car enthusiast consciousness.
