1957 Mercedes Benz 190SL

 1957 Mercedes 190SL

Before 1953 Mercedes Benz did not have a sports car in its portfolio. The International motor sports show was the most important auto show in the US at the time and so Mercedes wanted to make a good impression there to raise its presence.

The 1957 Mercedes 190SL looked slightly different from earlier models. The car now sported chrome trim. In the interior, the seats were more comfortable- wider with more padding. The car was available with 4 spd manual transmission. The car was sporty in looks if not performance and cam equipped with trunk space and also store items behind the seats.
