1948 JAGUAR XK120
The XK120 made an impression on celebrities and the public alike from the very beginning. In fact, Clark Gable, a famous Hollywood actor( at the time) owned the first production XK 120. The XK 120 shared many of its parts with the Jaguar Mark V. It was heavier than your typical sports car but was still able to reach a top speed of 120 mph. This was due in no small part to the 3.4 Liter inline six-cylinder engine under the hood. The 1948 XK120 was available only as an open seater roadster with a canvas top and detachable side screens. The car was available either as a left or right-hand drive. These first XK120’s are especially valuable because of the hand-built, wooden frame and aluminum bodies. So few were built and even less survived the passage of time.
