The Alfa Romeo Spider is a series of two-seater sports cars produced by the Italian carmaker Alfa Romeo from 1966 to 1993, and then from 1995 to 2010. The Spider was one of Alfa Romeo’s most iconic and beloved models, with a production span of over four decades.

The first Alfa Romeo Spider was introduced in 1966 at the Geneva Motor Show. It was designed by Pininfarina and was based on the Giulia platform. The Spider was powered by a range of four-cylinder engines, including a 1.3-liter, a 1.6-liter, and a 2.0-liter engine. It was praised for its sporty and elegant design, as well as its handling and performance.

In 1971, Alfa Romeo introduced the second-generation Spider, known as the Spider 2000. It was based on the same platform as the Giulia and was powered by a 2.0-liter engine that produced 132 horsepower. The Spider 2000 had a more angular and modern design, with a Kamm tail rear end. It also featured a spacious and comfortable interior, making it a popular choice among sports car enthusiasts. In 1983, Alfa Romeo introduced the third-generation Spider, known as the Spider Series 3. It featured a modernized design with plastic bumpers, as well as improved handling and performance. The Spider Series 3 was powered by a fuel-injected 2.0-liter engine that produced 120 horsepower, and later models were also available with a 2.5-liter V6 engine.

The final generation of the Alfa Romeo Spider was introduced in 1995 and produced until 2010. Known as the Spider Series 4, it was designed by Pininfarina and featured a more rounded and modern design. It was powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 150 horsepower, as well as a 3.2-liter V6 engine that produced 240 horsepower. The Spider Series 4 was praised for its sporty handling and elegant design.
