Many of the most popular forms of the Porsche are coupes. Porsche 911 cars are offered in two-door cabriolets, targas, speedsters and coupes. Porsche 911 is synonymous with “coupe,” as it is one of the oldest coupe nameplates still in production. In fact, when we think of the Porsche 911, it is the “coupe” version that most often comes to mind.
These are the Porsche 911 models that have two doors with a fixed roof. The word “coupe” originally comes from horse-drawn carriages, specifically the ones that had two passengers and no seats that faced the rear.
Porsche continues to make coupes to this day. So many models of Porsche 911 vehicles come in a coupe form, it would be pointless to list them all. Porsche didn’t invent the idea of the coupe, but with the Porsche 911, they took the idea of the coupe further than essentially any other manufacturer had at the time.
